Why this exists
The local search space is full of opinions and short on data. Ranking surveys are republished every year. Blog posts cite each other. Meanwhile, the businesses most affected, from independent med spas and dental clinics to veterinary practices and day cares, have no reliable benchmark for what a healthy Google profile actually looks like in their category.
InQik Insights exists to fill that gap. We analyze thousands of public Google Business Profiles every month and publish aggregate findings anyone can cite, compare, or challenge.
What we publish
- Data reports. Aggregate analysis of profile performance across verticals and regions.
- Field notes. Shorter observations from the data we see week-to-week.
- Case studies. Individual profile analyses published with airtight anonymization. No business names, no exact addresses, no identifiable screenshots, numbers rounded to ranges.
Every report includes sample size, methodology, and a downloadable dataset. We cite primary sources inline. We never name individual businesses.
How Insights relates to InQik
InQik is a platform that manages and protects Google Business Profiles for local businesses. Insights is the research arm, a separate publication with a separate editorial policy, published under insights.inqik.com.
Reports are not marketing. We do not cherry-pick findings to support the InQik product, and we publish findings that are inconvenient to our own positioning when the data supports them. The research has to be usable by people who will never become InQik customers, or it has no value to anyone.
